NYARWEK celebrating IDAHOT 2016

Today, the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT) was celebrated at NYARWEK resource center in Kisumu. Around 100 individuals from the local LGBT community attended the forum and were brought together to bond, share and discuss personal experiences under the global theme focusing on Mental Health and Well Being.

Since 2009, NYARWEK has been working for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people’s rights in cooperation with member groups, communities and government. On the occasion of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia, NYARWEK reiterates its strong commitment to the equality and dignity of all human beings irrespective of their sexual orientation and gender identity and will continue to work to advance the human rights and good governance, undertaking all activities that promote awareness on LGBTs.
